Fritz Barnes Wins The Bar Poker Open Championship $22,982

Fritz Barnes came in to the heads up match with more than a 4-1 chip deficit. But in the end it was Barnes who earned the victory. The Riverchasers qualifier from Landsdale, PA outlasted a field of 682 entries which created a prizepool of $100,000. Fritz will take home the $22,982 first prize which is by far the biggest score of his poker career.

Fritz Barnes came in to the heads up match with more than a 4-1 chip deficit. It was an epic heads up match in which the players battled back and fourth. But in the end it was Barnes who earned the victory. The Riverchasers qualifier from Landsdale, PA outlasted a field of 682 entries which created a prizepool of $100,000. Fritz will take home the $22,982 first prize which is by far the biggest score of his poker career.

After a heads up match in which the players were swapping chips nearly almost every hand it has finally come to an end. Fritz Barnes moves all covering Ron Lemmerman who has 4,500,000. Lemmerman makes the call and has Fritz dominated with his {ah}{7s}. Barnes holds the {kc}{7h} and will need some help to eliminate Lemmerman.

Both players flop a seven on the {7c}{9s}{2d} flop and Barnes will need a king and only a king to eliminate Lemmerman. The {kd} hits the turn and the crowd roars, it is now Barnes who is in command of the hand.

The {3h} completes the board and Lemmerman is eliminated in dramatic fashion. Lemmerman will be our runner up and collect $13,372 for his efforts.

Gus Pasquella limps from the small blind and Ron Lemmerman checks his option in the big blind. They see a flop of {kd}{9s}{8s} and Pasuqella checks. Lemmerman bets 1,000,000 and Pasquella check raises to 2,200,000. Lemmerman thinks it over for a bit and moves all in, covering Pasquella who has 2,800,000.

This makes Gus think it over for a bit, with his tournament life on the line. Eventually Pasquella makes the call and shows his {5c}{8c} for a pair of eights. Lemmerman shows {qc}{8h} and his queen kicker will play. The turn brings the {ks} and the {qd} completes the board giving Lemmerman the winning hand. Pasquella will be our 3rd place finisher collecting $8,172 for his efforts.

Miller tables {qc}{qs} and is in good shape to double up against the chip leaders {kc}{qh}. The dealer fans the flop of {10c}{js}{9c} and Barnes flops the nut straight.

It is a brutal flop for Miller and he will need running cards for a full house to win the pot or a king to chop. The turn brings the {10d} and when the {ah} completes the board Miller is eliminated. Miller will be our 6th place finisher collecting $4,457 for his efforts.

There will be no back to back championship for Ryan Chua. After a battle of the big stacks it was Fritz Barnes who came out on top. Chua raised to 440,000 from under the gun and Fritz Barnes called from the big blind. The dealer spread the flop of {jc}{2c}{7d} and Barnes checked. Chua slid out a bet of 300,000 and was quickly check raised by Barnes to 800,000.

Chua thought about it for a bit and moved all in for 2,300,000 total. Barnes called and Chua tabled the {kh}{jh} for top pair but he was in bad shape as Barnes held {jd}{7s} for top two pair. The turn brought the {7h} and Barnes improved to a full house. The {4h} completed the board and last years champion will be our 9th place finisher collecting $1,882 for his efforts.
