Carl Pipitone – No Limit Pub Poker

The fourth tournament on the 2017 Bar Poker Open schedule started at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. It was the first event of the day that was open to the public and drew a nice crowd, even with the snowy winter weather. The $260+$40 Monster Stack accumulated 194 entrants to easily surpass the $40,000 guaranteed prize pool.

With thirty minute levels there was a nice pace of play. It took about ten hours for players to reach the money. Right before the money bubble burst, players generously took $20 out of their own pockets to ensure that the player who finished in 19th place did not go home empty handed.

After that it was time to get down to business. Eventual first place winner Rich Meza did a lot of the dirty work by knocking out a few opponents including, Charles Gern in 16th place ($734) and Jill Herron in 10th ($979).

Adam Mentim had a big double up with thirteen players left, but fell short of his quest to make back-to-back final tables when his pocket kings were cracked by Matt Zanolli’s ten nine in 11th place. Mentim took home $979 for his deep run.

As soon as Jill Herron was eliminated by Rich Meza, the final nine players agreed on an adjusted payout structure, resulting in Carl Pipitone, of No Limit Pub Poker Tour, taking the trophy.

Pipitone is the owner of No Limit Pub Poker Tour, which is the biggest Bar Poker League in Florida. This is their first time ever being in Borgata. “It’s been a great experience so far, and today’s only the first day!” Pipitone came up with a handful of his players yesterday where he made the final two tables and cashed in Event 1.

The rest of the No Limit Poker Tour crew came up today, one of those players being Jennifer Payton, who final tabled Event 5. “For two representatives of our league to make two final table chops on the first day is unbelievable.”

The whole No Limit Poker Tour crew is very excited to be here “It was an awesome first day, we’re excited for the players party, day two and the final table on Monday. And all the other festivities involved!”
