Steve Tully

The opening tournament on the 2017 Bar Poker Open schedule drew a nice crowd starting on a Friday afternoon. The $200+$30 Friday Monster Stack drew 209 entrants to easily surpass the $30,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The Event 1 field had a nice combination of local regulars mixing with Bar Poker Open players coming in town for the $100,000 National Championship kicking off on Saturday. The bar poker league players were using this as a warmup for the big event tomorrow and included Premier Island Poker league owner Monica “Mon” Verusso along with Easter Poker tour co-owner Craig Bradford. We also found Robert Watson, Chris Lewis, Linda Rodrigues, and Randy Klingensmith representing their leagues as well.

After a relatively fast final table, it was down to Steve Tully, Allen Sansone, and Mike McGuinness who all had similar stacks. The three gentlemen agreed on an even adjusted payout deal and decided to play one hand for the trophy.

Tully was the victor of that hand and thus the victor of the tournament. It was fitting as these three players took turns eliminating every single opponent throughout the course of the final table. It started with Sansone’s double elimination of Adam Mentim and Robert Watson in eighth and ninth place respectively.

Then Tully took out three in a row, until McGuinness sent Basil Congro to the rail in fourth place. Each victor will take home $7,299 for their efforts.

Steve Tully is New Jersey resident who regularly grinds online. He came down specifically for this event and plans to leave in the morning before the weather gets too bad.

Event 1 final table results:

1st: Steve Tully – $7,299
