Mirbek Orozaliev is our 2016 East Coast Bar Poker Open Championship winner, earning $23,709!  This will be the first tournament cash reported for this 28-year old from New York Free Poker, but undoubtedly won’t be the last.

Mike arrived at the final table as the shortest stack, but was undeterred, “never gave up” and kept grinding away.  As his stack grew, so did his confidence.

His family back home in Kyrgyzstan will have to wait until morning to watch his victory on the live stream, but his New York Free Poker family was watching live, both here and online, as he took down the title.  I guess this means he’s buying the first round of drinks at the next Bar Poker event!

Miguel Rondon (Queens, NY)

The heads-up match did not last long.  Miguel Rondon opened for 1.6 million and Mike Orozaliev called.  The flop of {8c}{7c}{6s} was dripping wet and lit the fuse.  All the chips went in.  Miguel was all-in for 4 million and at risk, holding {jd}{9c} for an open-ender and two overcards.  Mike had flopped top pair with his {jc}{8d}.

The turn was the {4d} and changed nothing.  Miguel needed a five, nine, or ten to survive, but the river was the {kd}.

Miguel Rondon will collect $13,331 for his second place finish.  He came very close to not cashing at all.  Early on day one, he was down to less than one ante.  He had 200 chips when the ante was 300.  He was forced all-in and doubled up and kept doubling up to bag a very respectable 400,000 coming into Day 2.

Dean Myers completed the small blind, then Mike Orozaliev made it 1.6 million from the big.  Dean called.   When the flop fell {Kc}{9c}{8h} Dean led out for 800,000.  Mike called.  Turn was the {jh} and Dean fired 1.6 million, getting another call.  When the {th} landed on the river, Dean shoved and Mike snapped, showing pocket Queens for the straight.  Dean had {jd}{6d} for a pair of Jacks.  After doubling up Mike, he was left with only 75,000.

On the next hand, Dean had 50,000 in for the ante and was on the button.  He put in his last 25,000, then Mike raised from the small blind.  Miguel Rondon jammed from the big and we had a 3-way all-in!

Mike – {as}{9d}
Miguel – 44
Dean  – {7d}{6h}

The flop of {qc}{5h}{2c} missed everyone.  When the {8h} came on the turn, Dean picked up an open-ender, but the {jc} on the river was no help.

The 72-year-old Dean Myers proved he could hold his own with the youngsters, finishing 3rd for $8,394.

Mike began heads-up play with 10 million of the ~16 million chips in play.

Allie Ciorciari jammed for 2 million from the small blind and Mike Orozaliev (bb) snapped, showing pocket Queens.  Allie rolled over {3c}{2c}.

The flop of {ah}{8d}{8c} was bad news for Allie, but the {4c} on the turn gave him both straight and flush draws.  The {kh} on the river was a brick, however, and Allie was felted.  Mike chipped up to ~6.5 million.

Alessio ‘Allie’ Ciorciari will collect $6,814 for his 4th place finish.

The board came {qh}{4h}{4c}{tc}{ah} and missed Chris completely.  He finished in 6th place, earning $4,493.
